It started back started in September with the launch of a new IBM Institute for Business Value study, A booster shot for health and wellness: Your cognitive future in the healthcare industry in which we discuss how cognitive systems can help enable enhanced patient care, advanced discoveries and better decisions for healthcare providers around the world.
Additional cognitive news during this period included the launch of:
- the industry’s first consulting organization dedicated to helping clients realize the transformative value of cognitive business
- a GxP compliant cloud platform that allows this information to be de-identified, shared and combined with a dynamic and constantly growing aggregated view of clinical, research and social health data
- a new population health solution to make it easy for researchers to conduct studies using an iPhone and provide a personalized patient engagement program to improve individual health outcomes
With all this cognitive activity buzzing around in my head I felt it was time to find out what our healthcare clients make of this new cognitive era starting with a perspective from Europe. My thanks go to my colleagues Holly Bullock and Lauren White for conducting interviews with IBM’s European Healthcare leadership and producing a series of blogs which we’ll post on the Insights for Business site over the next few weeks.
