“Aspera is the industry standard for the transport and management of large data files produced by life sciences,” according to Sifei He, cloud product director at Beijing Genomics Institute (BGI), one of the leading genomics research institutes in the world.
This year’s Bio-IT World Conference is being held May 23-25 in Boston and Aspera, an IBM company is proud to be one of this year’s platinum sponsors.
Life sciences organizations generate massive data sets that need to be collected, shared, analyzed and archived. IBM Aspera enables geographically distributed teams to exchange huge data sets securely and reliably at near-zero delay regardless of distance or network conditions that leads to faster collaboration and innovation. Many life sciences organizations, like BGI, choose Aspera for high-speed data transfers to quickly enable research and ultimately improve and speed workflows that are often clinically-relevant.
Learn more at Bio-IT, with Aspera customer Christopher Whalen, from National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), who will discuss overcoming the challenges of enabling a multi-country clinical study. This Cloud Computing Track session entitled “Aspera as a Data Aggregation and Distribution Hub for Global Tuberculosis Research Protocols” will take place on May 24 at 5 pm in the Amphitheater.
Stay with us after the session for the 15th Anniversary Celebration with Poster Viewing in the Exhibit Hall and the Best of Show Awards from 5:30 – 6:30 pm. Aspera is a contender for Best of Show for its Aspera Transfer Service.
Other customers leveraging Aspera solutions include:
Bluebee provides a cloud-based bio-informatics platform for analysis of genomic data sets. After integrating Aspera solutions into its application on IBM Cloud, its customers can ingest data at speeds six times faster. By enabling hospitals, diagnostic test providers, research centers and other clients to collaborate and analyze data with greater efficiency, patients are more quickly diagnosed and treated faster.
ESAC was tasked by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) to create a private member-only and a separate public portal. Deploying Aspera solutions helped ESAC save time and eliminated security concerns while enabling them to move large data sets quickly into the portals. Enabling ESAC to reduce data delivery times allows the program to reduce costs. More importantly, research communities can easily and more efficiently exchange proteomics data, accelerating collaboration and sharing of insights to advance cancer research.
We have a full three days at the show and hope that you can join us in our booth (#348) and at our speaking session. If you would like to reserve a meeting time during the show, please click here.
